Stay Tuned!
When you sign up, you enter our database & you will always know when we schedule new dates & places.
We also found that we wanted to create opportunities for Artists to Paint in Community with each other, and for the Community to see artists at work as a natural part of the local culture.
Coming Up:

Nils Johnson, one of the Beermen of
The Little Red Barns Brewery is very creative. I spotted Nils when he was on a panel during the Creative Economy Summit, in September '25. He did not need to be convinced of the goodness of having artists paint in the large, light filled space, capturing a festive, lively Sunday afternoon at the Brewery while patrons are enjoying their food and drinks; listening to the live music. March 8, 2026 features the music of Walter Jacobson.
There is quite a history of artists painting cafe society in Paris in the 20th century.
Renoir,
Luncheon of the Boating Party, 1881
Lunch Restaurant Fournaise, 1875
Van Gogh,
Restaurant Rispal at Asnieres, 1887
Interior of a Restaurant, 1887
Cafe Terrace at Night, 1888
Manet,
At the Cafe, 1887
Woman Drinking Beer, 1887
Degas,
In a Cafe, (The Absinthe Drinker), 1876
Monet,
La Grenouillere, 1869
Plein Air Litchfield has a program that we call Palates & Palettes, an initiative that places PAL artists in restaurants during a dining shift as part PAL, as an entertaining experience for their patrons. It occurred to us to create practice sessions in lively spaces with people enjoying hospitality too.
This space will feature images from the Brushes & Brews PAL Practice Session when it is all done.
